Cuba Libre gone.

That location is cursed, must be the 4 th place to spend less than a year there. Anyone have any connections to get the scoop on why this spot keeps failing? I'm going to miss Cuba Libre majorly.

Aren't they the people behind Cubana, which just opened on Frankfort Avenue near Ewing (former Danielle's)? If so, the timing would suggest that they quietly planned all along to run one restaurant, not two.

I just learned about this today and I'm simply STUNNED! I was just in there about a week ago. Nirobi (one of the owners) told me their lunch-time business was still good. I was worried because the traffic was so low in the evenings but was hopeful they could stick it out. Some of the same dishes are available at its sister location, Habana Blues.

They were so hopeful that getting a beer & wine license would turn things around for them. They were talking about expanding into adjacent vacant space.

Where exactly was this place? As a native Hoosier, I'm quite familiar with the area but I don't get over there much anymore.

It's in this little 4 shop area across from the Chinese Buffet and Moby Dick and next to the old Hollywood Video. It's the last shop in that little strip. NOTHING lasts in that spot.

Mike, you are right. That place does seem to be cursed. When I lived over in Jeff, I remember that place as a spaghetti shop, pizza place and a little cafe. I don't think any of them lasted more than a year.
