Restaurants Missed

I'm feeling nostalgic. I miss;

Omar's Gyro
Pasta Pizazz (namely, the BLT pizza)
Italian Oven
Chico's
Parisienne Pantry
Judge Roy Bean's
Well of Spirits (for food, they mainly had bar apps, but very good)
Chi Chi's (namely, the imitation crab meat seafood enchiladas)
Zantigo

I know I omitted some.

And...help me out on this one...there was a place called The Gourmet Goose that I got desserts from after school sometime in the late 80s...does anyone else remember it, where it was and all that?

For more nostalgia: a post from LHB from back in 2003!

Club Grotto: RIP 1993 – 2009, everything
Fat Cat’s Deli & Pub: RIP 198? – 198?, best guacamole I ever had, way ahead for Louisville in beer selections
Lotus: RIP 1957 - ?, war sue gai, eggrolls, thick lumpy sweet & sour sauce

Nermana’s Bosnian Café: RIP 2003 – 2005(?), mousaka, goulash, bean soup
Pasquale’s 1314 Bardstown Rd (well-known address today), moved down a dozen blocks I think later on. Don’t recall their duration, was a favorite back when we were poorer.
Pasta To Go / Pasta Zone, New Albany, then Hurstbourne: RIP 1998 – 2003, fast pasta with buckets of tomato sauce. Perfect for me.
Pigasus, New Albany, then Longest Ave: RIP 2001 – 2005, terrific BBQ, baked beans, cornbread
Po’ Folks, Clarksville: RIP ? – 1998, lived a couple of blocks away in early ‘80s. 2 – 3 times a week got country fried steak w/gravy, red beans & rice, corn on the cob & hush puppies. Oh, the sodium resistance of youth…
Po-boy Shoppe: RIP 2004 – 2005, P.B.S. we hardly knew ye…
Ray Parrella’s esp. Court Ave, Jeff loc which was RIP ? – 2/14/98, red sauce heaven

Thatsa Wrapp, New Albany loc mostly: RIP ? – 1999, Asian crunch wrap – num!
Zephyr Cove: RIP 1996 – 2002, treat to have game meat that my wife didn’t have to cook after buying it from Creekside Outpost

If you have corrections or additions on the RIP dates, please let me know.

Anyone remember Trattoria Mattei (sp.?) out US 60 East past the Snyder interchange, or its successor Lanai?

Guess I'm betraying my age?
