The 2011 Hopslam was released Tuesday. Available at your friendly neighborhood Liquor Barn. 17.99 a six pack

Three bucks a bottle on the shady side is cheap. 2.83 at keg? Maybe I'll start bootlegging loads to Crescent Hill. How much do you have Todd? ;o)

I've heard of a concoction called an "Ex Slam" that a few friends had at Boomboz Taphouse. It consists of 2/3 Hopslam and 1/3 Bell's Expedition Stout. I have to go out and get one of these.

BoomBozz had a benefit on Tuesday for their "Taphouse Tuesday's" featuring 5 different Bells on tap-percent of the evening went to the WINGS Clinic. Every Time a Bell is "poured" An Angel gets his/her WINGS! I think there is still a selection left on tap...! Id don not do PR for BoomBozz-simply LOVE the manager!

That Ex-Slam is wicked. Great flavor, but its a lot of ABV to cram into one glass. On a trip to Deleware a few years ago, I got to try the Dogfish Head Black & Tan (they had a cool name for it, but as I explain this further, you'll see why I don't remember). It's a 50/50 blend of 120 Minute IPA and their World Wide Stout. The IPA is around 17% ABV, and the Stout is around 18%. It's like drinking a glass of schnapps if you look at it from a pure alcohol standpoint. Once glass, and I was done for the evening. I do remember it being so thick, that the beers were still separated in the last inch of the glass.
