follow up regarding John Durbin's passing

by Lisa Stephenson » Wed Jan 05, 2011 11:00 am

In follow up to my post regarding the recent passing of a fellow Hotbyter:

A celebration of life party for Johnathan P. Durbin will take place on January 22 from 2:00 until 6:00 PM outside his home at 1014 Marshall Street. Parking will be available in the lot across the street, which houses New Directions Housing Corp. at 1000 Liberty Street. Some may recall that this is the lot for the old/original Ferd Grisanti’s Restaurant. A heated tent will be set up and food will be provided by the Bodega at Felice and Pesto’s Restaurant (two of John’s favorite places).

We are still in the planning stages of this event and his obituary should be printed today. We realize it might seem strange to hold an outdoor event in the middle of January, but this party and it’s location was as per John’s wishes. No other memorials are being planned to my knowledge. So, I hope that anyone who knew him will be able to help us celebrate John’s life!

Lisa .. in order to clear up any confusion, the location you are describing was the location of CASA Grisanti. Although originally Ferd was a partner the only place using the name Ferd Grisanti was in J-town.
