Looking for fish

by Frank Wheatley » Thu Aug 16, 2007 8:32 am

I'm looking to get some fresh crappie or walleye for a fish fry this weekend. Any recommendations?

Thanks.

Frank, I don't know that crappie (or bluegill) are generally available commercially, but I've definitely seen walleye at Seafood Connection in St. Matthews, and I would be very surprised if Highland Seafood in Middletown doesn't have it, too.

I'd suggest calling either or both of those spots, depending on which is more convenient to you, and see what they advise.

I was thinking a long pole and a bucket of minnows at Kentucky Lake would be the best option ...

TP - You're right, we may be able to cook them in the lake, too. The water temp at Rough River is like bath water.
