Restaurants open on New Year's Day?

by Corey A » Tue Dec 28, 2010 1:25 pm

Obviously the restaurants posted in the New Year's events thread are going to be open on the 1st, but is anyone aware of any other places that will be open on this day? I plan on attending the Seviche brunch, but I am looking for a few more options for dining that evening.

I am not from the area, so please forgive me!

Corey, there probably won't be as many closed as on Christmas. I would guess that most places will figure it's still Saturday night, and that's a big night, but a call to places on your must-go list would be prudent.

Corey,
Since you are not from around here- I'll throw in a fun option for New Years. Lynn's Paradise Cafe- our very kitschy restaurant- hosts an annual "PJ Party" on New Years Day. Patrons come to the restaurant in their PJs- ( as do the servers) - all day if I remember correctly. They are near the Highlands if you are familiar with that part of town. A lot of Fun!

Shady Lane Cafe will do a New Years Day Brunch from 9am till 3pm. Included will be Shrimp and Grits, Homemade Biscuits and Sausage Gravy ( whom the other food critic in town declares as the best) Eggs Benedict with a twist. Country Ham Breakfast Platter, Mexican Breakfast Grilled Burritos, French Toast with Peach Compote and home whipped Grand Marnier cream, and other yummy items. Come on by and taste the best. Heard we were spoken of in Southern Living recently... I cant even keep up with my own publicity. Sad. Happy New Years folks.
