My wife and I went over and tried Tommy's new place today for lunch. Overall it was a very enjoyable experience. We arrived a little before 1:00, there were about a dozen cars in the parking lot which compared to some other restaurants we drove by today was about the norm.
They have a quite extensive menu ranging from barbecue sandwiches to large steaks with everything in between. We ordered the crab cakes for an appetizer. They were different than the ones served many places because they were not fried, which in my opinion is a good thing. They had very little filler and were quite tasty. Every table also receives bread like they do in most cases, here the bread is a very light yeast roll with a sweet buttery topping on them. A little messy but very tasty.
For the entree I had the blackened prime rib with a side salad and steak fries. The salad was nicely sized and the blue cheese dressing was "spicy" per our server Amanda's wording. It is made in house and quite good. The prime rib was cooked perfectly (medium rare) and some of the best I've had locally. The steak fries also were very good nicely browned and a little crispy on the outside and hot and tender inside.
My wife had the pulled pork sandwich out was recommended by our server. The meat was very tender with a nice smoky taste. They serve two different kinds of sauce on the side a spicy one and a sweet one. My wife ended up mixing them to give the flavor she liked. She also had and enjoyed the steak fries for a side.
Overall it was a very nice experience and I'm sure we'll be back. I saw several other menu items I would like to check out!
