Kitchen Visit at Impellizzeris

by Art T » Thu Dec 23, 2010 10:25 pm

Wes, thanks very much for letting my family take a tour of your kitchen. It was a pleasure meeting you. Wes told us all to wash up and let my two youngest kids make their own pizza!. They made a half pepperoni with TONS of cheese. :D

When we got back to the table they ordered salads and breadsticks, which of course we couldn't finish.

We left full and happy and ate pizza and breadsticks for dinner too.

Wes was awesome. My kids were a little nervous so we had to prod them along.

Really, I can't thank Wes enough. The pictures we took are flying around the family email system and everyone is jealous. I think we may have to have a big family dinner back in the private dining room someday.

Ohhh, you're strumming me heart strings tonight. Knowing they were nervous, experiencing something so seemingly imaginary until now, Christmas week, Wes in the background, a kid's favorite meal, downtown for all the glow, with their daddy, the whole family knows all about it - LOVE it! Congratulations - you're a superstar kinda dad. I'd have love to have been a fly on the wall.

Another "daddy" here wanting to share my story. Hannah,16, is in from Brownsville, TX (near SPI, 83 in the shade yesterday!!) We made, and rolled in nuts, almost 150 trufles for x-mas presents. good 1 on 1 time with family is what it is all about. Happy Holidays to you and yours. (I might have to take her in to meet my friend Benny in the highlands before she leaves.)

Hey there Tim, I'm from "the valley"! She is a long way from home.....both ways. Lately, i have been down because my whole family is in the valley, and just really painfully missing them.... she is lucky that you all are able to spend some time together at this special time of year. The truffles sound gooooood.

I bought a lot of cookie stuff, aprons too for me and my kids to make cookies for Christmas, but i just havent been able to bring myself to do it.... seeing this is motivating me a bit...

What a sweet outing! Kudos to Wes for taking time out of a no doubt busy schedule to welcome visitors into the kitchen. Kudos to a thoughtful dad for exposing his kids to a new and educational experience.
Great holiday outing!
And Wes... that's one shiny kitchen man! :D

Art it was a great pleasure to meet you and the family. I hope the kids had fun.

As I told Art, this is an old tradition Benny started years ago, kids making their own pizza.

We are pretty proud of the new restaurant and the kitchen is amazing if I do say so myself! :D

If anyone here is down there, ask for me and I'll give a tour. Or do as some and just wander around. It is fun to watch peoples reaction when they come around the corner and see the kitchen.

Thanks everyone for the kind words.

Cool! I remember them letting me into the kitchen at the L & N Seafood Grill (RIP) back a long time ago when I was about 13 and I was mesmerized.
