Danny Mac Rocks

by Susanne Smith » Mon Dec 20, 2010 4:44 pm

We had a great cheese steak and conversation with Danny today for lunch at the am-vets location. He has a sweet set-up there and I plan to go back for a game of pool and some pizza soon. Good luck to him and all the locals here in town. We had one of our busiest Mondays in a while as the the new Panera opened up across the street. Bring it on big boy!! As a acquaintance said recently, when I'm in the mood for a dusting of meat on my sandwich I go to Panera, when I want a real sandwich I go to Shady Lane. But back to Danny, He has a cheese steak that I have to say, and it pains me to do so, may be the equal of mine... keep on rocking! Bill. Shady Lane Cafe

Why have I not been to Danny's yet? We just took over the Poplar Level J. Gumbo's so I thought, FINALLY I will be right down from DM's and I'll get to try his much applauded stuff (heck I've even sent friends there based on the rave reviews, they were ecstatic with Danny!), and then he goes all George Jefferson on me! Danny, we will get there, I promise, soon! That cheesesteak is now calling to me!

We had at great time watching the U of L game at Danny Mac's last night. Pizza was great! We'll be back for Chicken & Pineapple ( no sauce ) soon. The kids loved their Cheese Pie and the Veggie was awesome.
