Short video from Mimi's

by Robin Garr » Sun Mar 11, 2007 5:26 pm

While I was in Mimi's for lunch the other day, I took the vidcam and discreetly panned the dining room from one side to the other and then back. There's no real content, but if you'd like to get a feel for what the inside of this eatery looks like, feel free to click the link to a 30 second show.

(One of my computers won't display it in Firefox, at least for the moment, but it shows up on two others, and on all three in Explorer.)

Looks like a packed house with a lot of people enjoying themselves. They sure did a nice job redecorating the interior of Don Pablo's. Was there something special about that specific bottle of Heinz ketchup? You really focused on that at the end.
Great food along with great company is truly one of lifes best treasures.

I'm pretty sure the Don Pablos was razed.

I'm pretty sure the Don Pablos was razed, and they built a new building.

No damn wonder it looks so great. I was trying to visualize what they had done with all the open space in the old place. By the way, I still need to get out to your place soon. I live just over the Jefferson county line off 22 and am about 5 miles from Crestwood. Thanks for the info, man. :D

Oh, sorry, I didn't get back to this last night.

I thought it would be fun to juxtapose the Parisian look of the place with the prominent display of the only condiment other than salt and pepper on the tables. Le sauce Americaine, so to speak ...

As H.L. Mencken memorably said, "No one ever went broke underestimating the taste of the American people."

But I much prefer David Hannum's quote (not P.T.Barnum) "There's a sucker born every minute."
