Forget it this morning, people

Hovercrafts and tanks only this morning. I never even made it to the truck. Can't walk without cleats.

Parking lots, sidewalks, ect. are deadly. The main roads and interstates are nearly perfect.

I agree. It is very treacherous if you have to walk any distance on an uncleared driveway, sidewalk, or street. Don't forget if you're parked outside, you'll have to keep your balance and traction while scrapping your windows. Be very careful!

Once you get in your vehicle, you'll probably find the roads passable. I didn't have any trouble negotiating mild inclines and freeway ramps. I'd be more leery if there were a significant, less traveled hill on my route.

Agreed....I made it in, but by the skin of my seat, so to speak.....side streets are a fricking mess. Shelbyville Road wasn't bad, and 71 was OK.....but then again, I was doing that at 6:15 this morning. OY

Can I assume that by this time most of the streets are OK?

main streets are - side streets that haven't been treated are still pretty much a skating rink.

You think we had it bad, I went through Cincinnati about 1030 am. Wowza.

Sidewalks back home were definitely the hazard. (main) Streets were pretty clear.

be careful

I got cocky because I didn't have any problems driving so I thought I could walk down the driveway to the mailbox. I ended up doing a sudden sit-down, landing on my ankle. Now I walk like Festus.

DH just fell on our stepping stones while taking out the garbage.

"Do we have any melting salt?"
"Sure, in the shed."
"Maybe you should use it?"

Taking the garbage to the curb just now was a trip. First I had to make it off the back porch and down the icy steps. Then I had to pry the frozen can open to deposit remaining bags. Then began the odd, man-and-garbage can ice skating routine*. Too bad no one was watching that free entertainment. The wheels on my garbage can sure look to be "off-road" ready, but I'm not convinced...

* I couldn't help but think of that "footprints in the sand" poem, or whatever it is. "When there were only tire tracks and not footprints on the driveway, that's when the garbage can carried me."
Thinks the frosty mug is the low point in American history.

My husband did the garbage can trick yesterday too. He'd get up the little hill and slide back down, get up the hill a little and side back down again... Finally, he wised up and rolled the can thru the grass instead....
