Low cost per person catering

by Jenny H » Thu Dec 09, 2010 5:51 pm

I am trying to think of places on the east side of town that does catering and is a low price per person. One I can think of is Qdoba. That is the type of food I am thinking of. Any recommendations? Thanks!

Jason's Delicatessen and Mcallister's both do catering.

It would be a Sunday evening. About 10-12 people. At a person's house so we would pick up the food. Not sure about cost per person. Maybe $8 or so? I am guessing that is what Qdoba or McAlister's would charge.

Jenny,
I think we could probably come pretty close to that if not slightly under if you are willing to pick up the food. We have a pretty wide variety on our catering menu and have a half pan size that feeds 10 people. For example:
Grilled chicken, with roasted garlic mashed potatoes and vegetable medley + caesar salad = $82.58 with tax. Right at $8 per person. This would feed 10 people easily and can be enough for 12 to 15 depending on how you guys eat.

We have a wide variety of other items as well. Here is a link to our online menu.

So Ned, do the prices online include taxes already? It seems to be higher than what you quoted. Thanks!

Ned,

Wow! thanks for posting. I would never have guessed that you could cater from Napa River Grill at that kind of price. I'lll keep that in mind.

Jenny,
The prices on that menu do not include tax. You want to look at the price for the half pans,as this is the pan that feeds 10 people. The pricing on line is actually a few dollars lower than what i quoted, but I think I am looking at an old paper menu from our office. We also include plate ware, silverware, and serving utensils in every order.

Deb and everyone,
We do a lot of catering for lunches at offices, hospitals, etc.. with corporate entities and drug reps/companies so over the years we have tailored a menu to fit those requirements. All ingredients are the same as you would get in our restaurant while dining in. We do charge a delivery fee if we come to you which alters the price a little but overall I feel we have developed a very cost friendly menu. Feel free to call me personally if you ever want to place an order or ask for Gretchen Fields who is our casual catering manager.

Jenny,
Zoe's Kitchen is another East End option. They do both catering and family dinners for 4. Haven't tried the catering, but love the family dinners. They easily feed four adults including entree, side and large salad for less than $30 each.

We (J. Gumbo's) also do caterings, pick-up or delivery and feature very affordable pricing. Since figures have already been thrown out in this discussion, I would feel odd throwing out numbers, but if you would like more information, please feel free to shoot me a PM.

Thanks!

Ronnie,
I would not be offended if you posted any pricing. That is the reason why different restaurants exist at different menus and prices. If we had the exact same menu maybe, but our food is different. Post away, we love you guys and have used your catering services ourselves for a few Xmas parties in the past. Great food.

I have had Yang Kee Noodle for a couple of office events and that makes an inexpensive but yummy catered meal.
