Funmi Cafe--Modern Nigerian Cuisine is opening beside Homemade on Bardstown. Owner siad it would open very soon. With that, I've exhausted my entire supply of insider info about it.

I'd be willing to check that out! West Africa, I wonder if the fare has some kinship with Chez Seneba (Senegal).

I love Chez Seneba! If the cuisine is at all similar, I look forward to checking this place out. Even if they are quite different, I will still like to try it, because I don't think I've ever had Nigerian food.

Which Homemade? Bardstown and Taylorsville (please, that's literally a 30 second walk for me...) or Bardstown and Baxter?

Damn. Answered my own question. It's 1043 Bardstown Road, so in the Bardstown/Baxter area.

The website makes it appear as if it's open already. Looks good.

Retract - just looked at the menu. There are some ethnic looking dishes, but a lot of things like cheese sticks, cheese burgers, onion rings, chicken tenders, salad tossed with ranch dressing, caesar salad, jalepeno poppers, etc. They're not fully committed to the ethnic thing, but the Nigerian dishes they have look good. I'll give them a try.

It's in the spot that used to house VT Bubble Cup.

Sounds like the same model as Omar Fast Food on Preston around Ormsby, which blended an American burgers-and-fries with authentic Pakistani. Is it still around?

The menu looked interesting enough that I'll wander up next week to see if they're open. If they are, then I'll have a new place to drag the coworkers to that's close.

Went by there today, and was very excited to see the sign! I'll definitely be trying the authentic side of the menu, American fare I can get elsewhere.

Across the street, in the old Lonnie's something called The Holy Grail is also coming soon... Anybody know anything?

With all due respect to AM.
Please don't bite my good leg.

But the question was asked for further information.

The same connections to Louisville Beer Store 746 East Market Street
Louisville, KY 40202 are supposed to be the New Proprietors.

If you know them, ask what's planned, and visit both.

yes, they are still there, but I wonder how long. Whenever we go there, hardly any other customers are there.
