Love Stephen... So happy about his new home!

I remember when we were asking, "where's David Pierce?" - you remember that?

I poked my head in Majid's stunning new place today. Stephen will have a 1st class bar to call home, as the renovations done really allow the bar to shine. Can't wait for the opening-- hopefully next week! To be able to listen to great live music so close to home-- we are excited !

Sorry I haven't picked up on this quicker, everybody, I have been busier than a one legged man at a... well you know the saying!

This is going to be a wonderful restaurant. It is best described by saying that it is Majid. He has had only two hometowns in his life. One in Iran, one in Louisville. The fare, the beverages, the hospitality all reflect his culinary journey.

Bobby J is handling the nightly entertainment. There is a lounge area, a VIP booth, a small dance area and even some seated dining in the bar area.

We have a room for special parties that will probably also be used for regular seating, I personally think.

The bar program will focus on wines from America and the Persian Empire (think Morocco and Greece to India.) The same structure will happen with regards to the beer selections. The cocktail list will be small, yet will change with the seasons.

We're soft-opening throughout the month of December, presenting a sizeable small plates menu for the bar half of the restaurant. The restaurant half will be available for holiday parties, though.

We'll open on Tuesday the 7th, yet don't let that keep you from stopping by to check out our progress. We all practically live there at the moment and would love to see you. It's actually kind of fun to see the behind the scenes of a restaurant opening. Kind of like reality TV- except it's real!

In Louis-speak, we're in Rick's old place- in the same building as Paul's. Otherwise known as 3930 Chenoweth Ln (Chenoweth Square.)

Congrats on the new position Stephen! Tell Majid, I said "Hi!" I know it will be great! :)
When in doubt, add more wine.

Sorry i wasn't there, mate, I really wanted to talk with you about NABC. You did speak with a member of the management team, though- so my promise of 'we are here' is kept.

I was off-premise, tasting Kentucky wines for our list. I liked a Gerwurz and a curiously labled blush.

We'll have our conversation sooner or later, though!

The softest of openings is going on this evening at Majid's. The two cocktails of Stephen's that I tried were right on :D Champagne cocktail w/ St. Germaine & orange bitters and a Pimm's old fashioned. The first that stood beautifully by itself and yet blended nicely with the Persian-style lamb "pops." The second was a perfect match for the salmon crostini. The decor is exquisite but subtle, yet top drawer all the way. If I wasn't a single lady of AARP membership age, I'd be signing up for the New Year's Eve grand opening in half a heart beat. And yes, on top of the food, cocktails and amibiance, there will be the music of Bobby J.
