Looking for good middle eastern cuisine in St. Matthews area. Have been to the Grape Leaf and like it. How is the Sahara Cafe....never seems to be many diners there. prefer St. Matthews area but interested in other areas also. Thanks.

Frankfort Ave .. Shiraz 2011 Frankfort .. in a new building called the Clifton Lofts close to the railroad tracts.

Grinstead Dr about 1/2 block off of Bardstown Rd .. Pita Delights .. the owner is the brother of the Grape Leaf.

Al-Watan out off Klondike Lane doesn't have much "charm" as a restaurant, but you can get good portions for carryout at a very good price. The food is delicious!

Shiraz is good too.

Now, Al-watan is def considered middle eastern, if you go there try the eggplant in tomato sauce it sounds heavy, but it is more of a vinegar, sort of sweetish tomato sauce. It is delish.
enjoy!

Another vote for Al Watan. Love it, love it, love it ... it has become a staple in my diet!
