Chef volunteers for Chef's Club at Wellington Elem

by Dan Thomas » Fri Nov 19, 2010 10:56 am

I'm looking for at least five people (hopefully two chefs per class) to meet with one group of twenty students, one hour a week for five weeks, and also helping out with a dinner for the students, parent volunteers and faculty involved with this program on Feb. 2nd.

We have a lesson plan for this and it's a great way to get involved. I have the dates set if anyone would like to check their availability:
K/1st grade group will meet on these Mondays in Jan. 10th, 24th, 31st
2nd/3rd grade group will meet on Wednesdays, Dec. 15th, Jan. 12th, 19th, 26th and Feb. 2nd
4th/5th grade group will meet on Thursdays, Dec. 16th, Jan. 13th, 20th, 27th and Feb. 3rd
All Chef's Club meetings start at 4:00pm until 5:00pm

As I am already working with another school, Wellington is also looking for a chef volunteer to help out with the Let's Get Cooking Recipe Challenge.
Here's a link or information regarding this. The deadline for submission is Dec. 31st

Anyone interested in either of these projects can contact myself or the magnet coordinator at Wellington, Susan Dake at 485-8343 or at susan.dake@jefferson.kyschools.us
Thanks! I hope everyone has a Happy Thanksgiving!
