Many, many thanks to Mojitos and Fernando

by Leah S » Tue Aug 07, 2007 10:40 am

We finally got the whole family to Mojito's for brunch last Sunday. I had emailed Fernando ahead of time to request a special plate for our DD who is vegan. I know that all of us here at the Forum love the food, but you must acknowledge that many, many dishes contain dairy or meat which as a vegan she doesn't eat. Well, Fernando alerted his crew and shortly after we arrived, DD was presented with a ginormous vegan platter. She felt like a princess. Truly, this platter took up half the real estate on a two-top. Black beans, steamed rice, plantains, a corn cake that was yummy, vegetable skewers and more. It was colorful, tasty and she was overwhelmed.

She's a good sport about eating our with us, but does tire of getting a salad and a dry baked potato. She understands the diet choice she has made and does not regret it or complain. But this was over the top wonderful! She had a big smile plastered on her face for hours.

Fernando, your hospitality and willingness to accomodate a special diet is fabulous. We'll be back again and again!

Oh yes, the rest of us ate nearly everything on the buffet. It was wonderful too!
