Lamas to open second restaurant near Springhurst

by Robin Garr » Sat Aug 04, 2007 10:25 pm

Anthony Lamas has graciously permitted me to spill a few beans about an exciting new venture he'll be opening in the autumn: An East End restaurant, similar to Seviche, in the Springhurst area. I've been asked not to be specific about the location until the lease is signed, but Anthony will have more details for us soon, probably next week.

Meanwhile, with permission, here is some of his description of the new place. Sounds like the next best thing after Limestone to draw serious "foodie" out to the 'burbs.

>> We will have a ceviche-seviche bar with some bistro type dishes, such as Charcuterie de casa with pickled jalapenos, black pepper-onion relish and caper berry-dijon mojo. Veal calfs liver with Peruvian lima beans,Vidalia onion, and Pointe Reyes blue demi glace. Cast iron skillet escargots with citrus-tarragon butter and jalapeno-tomato confit. Some entrees will be "Latino coq au vin", Black Angus short rib "ropa vieja" with smoked paparika rice and poblano-truffle demi glace, Gaucho steak -Changes daily with papas fritas (pommes frites) We will have most of the signature items as Seviche-a Latin restaurant. We hope to be open in October sometime. <<

Great! And it has other positive effects. Maybe now the wait at Mojito will only be 1 hour on a Wednesday night. :P

Thanks Dallas! Mojitos, Napa River, and Jacks Lounge is what really made me decide to go forward. I've been holding back for about a year now, on the East End. My investors are from this area and have been wanting to do this for awhile. We are on an hour wait at Seviche-a latin restaurant and hope to be aswell at Seviche-a latin bistro. Actullay we were on an hour and a half wait last night. I've brought on Jack Tapp to be my Chef de cuisine, who is so talanted. Most probably remember him from Dectrichs or how ever you spell it. The Napa River guys were in last night, and we are all excited to bring some adventurous food to the suburbs. This new Seviche the Bistro will have alot of bistro dishes aswell as the signature items at Seviche the restaurant. Dallas good luck at the Beard house, the menu looks great! I ran into some of your staff and they are so excited. What a small world, because one of your managers grew up with my wife. Muchas gracias y buen provecho!

Way to go Anthony!!! I'm so glad that you are heading into the East End. It will be great to have more quality venues in that area, plus you will be a 5 minute drive from my house. Let me know what I can do to make your restaurant successful. Wishing you the very best!!

Anthony -

Thank you, thank you thankyou!!!!!!

Seviche is one of my favorite places to sit and eat at the bar on a weeknight (I don't like taking up a table when it's only me :-) and your bartender Adam has always been fantastic! I can't seem to get my husband over there more than once in a while because (pick your one of two stock answers) "There's nowhere to park" or "I don't want to drive that far" (Never mind we used to live in Seattle!) Anyway, I will be able to get my fill of seviche AND bring him along once you're closer to us.

Can't wait! Best of luck!
