Drove by this week and the light fixtures were still wrapped in plastic and a Sysco truck was unloading.

I saw an ad that made me think they might be open for delivery and takeout.

Mozz was supposed to open this weekend, but didn't due to some last-minute SNAFU. A friend who works there assures me they will be open next weekend.

The ad in this week's Leo made it look like the whole shebang would be open this week. Even had dates for Jazz groups on 11/4. Really looking forward to it.

Yeah, it sounds great to me, too. I wonder what went wrong. Inspector put out his hand and they thought he just wanted to shake? ;)

I saw something on facebook saying there was a "gas permit issue" that was very unexpected. Horrible timing with all of the weekend festivities...
I wish them the best of luck, really looking forward to the opening!!!

I've heard that Wed is the opening. But I've been wrong in the past. (Please don't tell anyone)

Times may have changed, but once upon a time my brother had 7 ice cream stores scattered between Louisville, D.C., St. Louis and New Orleans. He says Louisville was one place where the inspectors didn't want a "special" handshake. It would be nice if that was still true.

It might be true. I certainly can't speak for recent years, and back in the day (well, '70s and '80s), we at The Louisville Times were deeply suspicious but, in fairness, never could find the smoking gun. It's tough to get testimony when the only two witnesses to a deal are personally involved ...

not to derail, but the cleanliness standards (or lack thereof) at a certain Frankfort Ave. hamburger restaurant have me convinced at least one inspector still accepts donations...
