Blind Pig

by Carla G » Fri Nov 05, 2010 3:19 pm

My brother and sister-in-law just flew in from California for Breeders' Cup. He had heard a bit about The Blind Pig so we all dashed out last night around 8 PM. We were able to get a table right away (but they were still pretty packed.)
Where to start? Suffice it to say it was all wonderful. We started off with signature cocktails (I had a French 75, my brother the Bacon Manhattan and my SIL the Awakening.) Sublime, all of them. We followed up with a shared order of oyster fritters that were so flavorful with a great thinly crisp fritter coating. I then had the mussels(fantastic) Tim had the Cassoulet (he loved it) and Kathy had the Ivory Bacon (I think. Honestly, I ad my face planted in my mussel bowl too long to really notice much else. We had a great meal, great service made even better because our server was very knowledgeable about their wine list and paired everything with the appropriate glass of wine. We shared a bowl of Comfy Cow ice cream and left happy campers. What a great restaurant to show our race visitors how wonderful Louisville can be.

Finally made it to the Blind Pig for lunch today with my hubby and son, and yes it was everything folks had said and more! I had the Ivory Bacon, son had the Bacon Butty and hubby had one of the sandwich specials..Chorizo,egg,bibb lettuce and tomato, may have also had bacon...not sure...He ate it too fast to remember.
Needless to say we were all very happy. Service was great, atmosphere also great, food was sooo good. Only one question....can we get the aroma from the place as an air freshener?

Since this was revived I'll chime in. I dined there tonight for the fourth time and received the most delicious food I've had thus far. The cassoulet was everything a dish should be and undoubtedly the best thing I've ordered to date. The four members of my party, two of whom were visiting for the first time, left very pleased and full. Keep up the great work guys.
