That sounds good to me. If is, I am there. I didn't live this long not to be a "dirty old man".

Not much a rage. More like a burp. Sushi on the other hand...that's a rage.

-I stand corrected. BBQ places seem to be sprouting up like wildfire.

Staxx now open!

by Mark R. » Tue Nov 23, 2010 7:13 pm

We would by this afternoon about 5:00 it looks like they are now open. The sign out front was a advertising happy hour from 3 to 7 and there were quite a few cars in the parking lot. It'll be interesting to see how it goes over. I found a website for them but so far it's just one page with the name and the logo: Staxx Roadhouse hopefully soon it will have a menu and more information.

Is it me or does this place change names/restaurants every time I turn around?

Talked to the manager last week.

It's run by the "original" Furlongs people. The menu sounds like the old Garrett's, but with more smoking and bbq. Lots of outdoor seating, and they opened up the place. Features are roast beef, steaks, smoked meats, that sort of thing with beers. Looks like a lot of tv's around and about.

Their liquor license came through, and they are now open.

I asked about the return of Furlongs, and was told that if Tommy can find a smaller venue they do want to reopen Furlongs also.

Just don't go to www.staxxx.com looking for a menu like I did.

At least not when your significant other is in the same room. :D

Staxx Roadhouse & BBQ

by Tommy Walters » Wed Nov 24, 2010 12:40 am

Hello Hotbytes Followers,

Staxx Roadhouse and BBQ is now open at 9601 Shelbyville Road.........

This is something I've been wanting to do for a very long time and it's become reality.......A honky tonk Steakhouse with a little BBQ too.........Offer good Steaks, served straight off the grille or topped with a wild mushroom sauce, crab meat and bearnaise or crawfish etouffee....Also Fried Catfish, Great Chicken Tenders, Homemade Hearty Beef Vegetable Soup, Hot Fresh Chili, Good Chicken Noodle Soup, Salads, Brisket Sliders with a side of Chimichurri, Pulled Pork Sliders, BBQ Ribs......I've tried to cover all the bases.....If you come in and the menu doesn't fit your taste....just text or call me and tell me what you want........I will try to please everyone.......

We also just purchased a piece of property in Frankfort for Staxx BBQ......BBQ ONLY......

We are also putting a Staxx Roadhouse in Lexington.....

We are also planning on putting Furlongs back in Lexington and Louisville as soon as we find the right locations.......Yes I won the lawsuit!!!!

If ANYONE has any problem while at Staxx....Please let me know so I can take care of it.....We have 99% of the kinks ironed out......were close to getting it right!!!!!

The website is almost finished and we are working on Face Book right now.....

I'm very serious when I say if you have a problem or a special request......please let me know

Tommy, looking forward to visiting. Have missed a good place in that location since Garrett's.......Furlongs was too Cajon for my liking.

Tommy, best wishes on this venture! Keep us posted as plans for restoring Furlongs continue as well. Any thought about trying Frankfort Avenue again? I always thought you were a better fit there than in the 'burbs.

Bill......

Furlongs evolved into something else that I started when I was going through the lawsuit......

Furlongs is meant to be simply A Louisiana Restaurant with great food with a Horse Racing Inspired Theme

Just as Outback Steakhouse is A Louisiana Restaurant with an Austrailian Theme

Warren LeRuth from New Orleans did their menu

Just like Ruth's Chris is A Louisiana Restaurant with a Top Dollar Steakhouse Theme

Furlongs will be back.....That was the whole purpose of the lawsuit......

Come Check out Staxx
