Help needed for Saturday AM dining

by RTaglieri » Fri Oct 29, 2010 5:08 pm

Need to drop my son off at former River Road CC (Zorn & River Road) at about 9:15 and turn around and be back by 10:45 for a race. Would like to find a decent, quick breakfast in the area, but do not have luxury of waiting long.

Any suggestions?

Much appreciated.

North End cafe isn't too far away, they have an excellent breakfast/brunch menu and getting out of there in 45 minutes shouldn't be a problem at all. Another option would Shady Lane cafe, you could cut up Zorn to Brownsboro to get there quickly. They also have a great breakfast! Either one would be a good choice.

Barbara Lee's - straight up Zone to Brownsboro, turn right, it will be on your left.

Just read on another post that Shady Lane is going to be closed tomorrow so take that off your list.

Thanks for the suggestions.

Ended up at Barbara Lee's kitchen as it was closest. It had a very Twig and Leaf feel to it, as a "throwback" diner. Had eggs and hash brown and OJ and food was both hot, tasty and cheap. Definitely a "greasy spoon" and probably would have arteries tighten up if I ate there every day, but good suggestion.

thanks as I would never known it was there otherwise
