Fern Creek Chick-Fil-A is open...

by Terri Beam » Fri Oct 29, 2010 2:00 pm

Apparently it opened yesterday, so I decided to brave the crowds and head over.

At first the line at the drive-through looked too long, but they have their procedure down pat--one person hands you a menu, another writes your order down, and a third person on a headset calls in your order...all before you get to the menu board. That drive-through line moved more quickly than most of the fast food joints in this area on a regular day.

I'm not a big Chick fan, but it's nice to have a different place to visit when I need to grab a quick lunch.

That's all I needed - the travel distance to the other stores was the only thing keeping me from eating Chikin-minis more often. Damn them and their delicious, almost crack-like little breakfast bites.

I stopped there for breakfast this morning. When I pulled in at 7:45, there were about 3-4 cars waiting to even place their order. The distance between the call baox and the window is pretty far so there were at least another 5 cars in line. I was back on Bardstown Rd. in about 10 minutes, gnawing on Chic-n-minis and slurping sweet tea.

I like ranch dressing on my spicy chicken! My favorite breakfast is their chicken bagel w/cheese and a diet lemonade. YUM! :D

I also heard they are putting a Chick-Fil-A in the now defunct Taco Bueno at Hurstbourne Ln. and Taylorsville Rd. Any news?

Taco Bueno is gone? It was open last time I drove by there. That was quick...and sad. Their food was several levels above Taco Hell.

Oh geez...I'm not sure if 2 Chickfila's within 10 minutes is a blessing or a curse! Now to decide if I should share this news with my husband who is a CFA addict...

If they are closed, then it had to have happened this week. Last time I drove past it, they were open. When did they close?

They closed about two or three weeks ago. The signs have been down for at least two weeks.

CHICK A FIL, is what I used to call this place in high school when it was a real treat. There were only two or three of them at that time. Now they are sprouting up like weeds!
Every sandwich I've ever had in any of the NEW freestanding establishments, has been burnt to an almost uncomfortable degree. And I've tried all of them. Hoping for the best, but suddenly expecting the worst.

We went this weekend...the line was pretty long but they have their system down! It took 7 minutes from the time we got in the line (drive thru) until we had our food and were on our way.

I'm probably one of the strange ones, but I actually like my chickfila a little burnt...the darker the crust the better! unless it's dried out, then it's just yuck!!
