My husband and I were running some errands near the Summit and decided to head over to Norton Commons to try one of the new eateries I've been hearing about on Hotbytes. We selected Tea Station Chinese Bistro. What a treat! We were expecting average Chinese food and we were pleasantly surprised how delicious our lunch was. We both started with Wonton Soup and it was the most flavorful I've ever had (and I order it at almost every chinese place I go to). The broth was perfect and the wontons had quite a bit of filling in them. I often feel that most restaurants serve wontons lacking enough filling and are mainly wrapper.
I ordered the Kung Pao Shrimp and my husband got the Chicken with Garlic Sauce. Each meal came with some mini crab rangoons and brown rice. I was thrilled that there were so many veggies in my shrimp. It was missing peanuts like I expected but it certainly did not lack in flavor. My husband's was my favorite though. It had very thin slivers of chicken and some sort of mushroom in a brown garlic sauce. It was delicious! Everything just tasted fresh and not loaded down with overly thickened sauces which is often my complaint at many chinese restaurants. Our total for the meal was $15. Great deal for a great lunch.
Now I love this place but we were the only customers there the whole time we dined. We were there around noon. I hope they usually get a better flow of traffic. I want to see this place stick around! I will definately try it for dinner.
