A fine beer may be judged with only one sip, but it's better to be thoroughly sure.

Just saw it at the bourbon lounge at the Yum Center and was wondering about it myself. If you have customers asking for it, I'd get get, doesn't matter if they just walked off the course after doing 20 jager bombs.

We've had this in our store for about 3 weeks now, and sales have been very good for it so far. Its a cheap knock off of Jim Beam's Red Stag. It is very sweet, and masks the burn of the alcohol well. Its almost half the price of the Red Stag, so that has helped its sales. I see more companies coming out with these products based on the great sales of Wild Turkey's American Honey. This product was cloned by Evan Williams as well, and also by Seagram's 7. They are served chilled, and typically done as a shooter, though the Cherry does have some mixability to it, especially with sodas. Think Cherry Coke, when mixing it with Coke or Pepsi. When the American Honey came out this time around (the initial release was a resounding failure, so the tweaked the recipe and changed the packaging) I tried a bit of it in a green tea, thinking the honey flavor would blend in well..... it did not!

One good thing, they do not try and pass it off as bourbon, they (Evan Williams) call it Kentucky Liqueur.

I get everything pitched at me when it comes to infused liquors, mostly vodka's with all the flavors under the sun and have had good success with the American Honey but am still kinda leary when it comes to fusing bourbon.

Tried the wheat Bernheim bourbon and it came across as floral almost like a "light" bourbon, had several calls for it when it came out, now it is almost at the pour it off as a well stage, it is not moving at all.

That's a shame, the Bernheim is fantastic. Yet, they prolly knew it would be a crap-shoot trying to run against Maker's.

The American Honey and Evan Honey are decent enough. They really do play well when combined with their respective houses, especially (same terroir, barrels, storage, etc...)

I was underwhelmed with the Red Stag, yet I am holding out hope on this release.
