A friend of mine stopped in for lunch today and said it was decent. I have eaten at the one in Houston a few times and seem to remember being served three salsas: hot, mild, and some type of creme based dip. He said they were only served a single medium salsa. I will have to check it our for myself one of these days.

Hi Will! Please tell your friend you have to order the sauces either with the chips OR on the side with your entree.. They have ALL 7 sauces listed with description on the menu. Was there with some friends at the bar and we ordered 5 different sauces. They are at NO extra charge. The Creamy Jalapeno is the dressing type dip you are remembering I believe-it is ADDICTIVE and so Yummy! Hope you enjoy! :D

Thanks for the clarification. I will let him know, and I will definitely be sure to sample some different ones when I make it in. Yes, creamy jalapeno is very addictive if my memory serves me correctly!

Can someone give me the, obviously written, phonetic pronunciation of his restaurant's name?

I just browsed the menu and it looked fine to me. However I saw one thing that I did not like at all ... in the fine print at the bottom of the menu, it states that all dishes are available to go for an additional fee

Now, due to the distance between my house in Fern Creek and Chuy's, I would never do carry out. But a surcharge for a carryout order is absurd in my opinion.

I would think that carryout is already more profitable for a restaurant ... maybe there is an additional cost to disposable containers ... but there is the savings in not paying the server, the bus boy, the dishwasher, etc (if you look at it from a cost per meal perspective). Not to mention that a carryout order does not cut into profit margins on free refillable items like chips and salsa, drinks, etc.

Am I missing something here? If I am over-reacting then set me straight, but this has me perplexed.

So are they going to charge extra if one wishes to take the uneaten portion of the order home with him/her? If so, I'm not eating there no way.

I read it as if you answered "Carry-out" to the "Dine In or Carry-out?" question, you should expect an upcharge.

I'm pretty sure KT's charges for carryout. It's been a while since I've gotten anything to go from there, but at one I remember paying something like 26 cents for the to-go containers.

Puerto Vallarta in Fern Creek charges .25 cents for take out. I've never been bothered having to pay a few cents for ToGo containers when picking up an order. Is it really that big of an issue to prevent someone from dinning at a place because they charge .25 cents for lids?

I don't understand the reason for an additional charge for takeout. Take out probably costs them less for several reasons. They don't have to wash dishes or tables nor pay a waitress. Other items like bread, chips and salsa, etc are not unlimited in quantity for takeout. The cost of the takeout container is minimal compared to the savings. Has anybody ever heard a justification for takeout to have an additional charge?
