Crème brûlée

by Kyle L » Sun Oct 10, 2010 10:26 am

While out off town last night dinning (Boi Na Braza in Cincinnati), I had their Creme brulee. It was very delicious; though would have better if not as FULL from dinner. I asked about places in Louisville for the dish. Lilly's was the name given for the best one in town. Are there any more suggestions? I am MAD in love with this dish. (Like Steve and bologna  ) )

I'm not a dessert guy, but Creme Brulee is my weakness. Having said that, I don't think there is any better Creme Brulee in Louisville than the one at L&N Wine Bar. Very basic Vanilla Bean custard, but they use brown sugar instead of the usual white sugar. It forms a great crust. Just awesome...

I would say Uptown Cafe, I can't think of anyone that does it better.

Asiatique has a dessert made up of three or four very unusual small (tiny?) creme's. Very unusual and wonderful.

I think Jack Fry's Crème Caramel wins hands down.

Personally, I forget the Louisville restaurant scene on this one and make friends with forumite Nancy Inman. Her crème brûlée wins hand down! :D

She also makes a muffaletta thats hard to beat.
The tall one wants white toast, dry, with nothin' on it.
And the short one wants four whole fried chickens, and a Coke.
