Bardstown Road farm mkt Harvest Festival tomorrow

by Robin Garr » Fri Oct 08, 2010 3:46 pm

Just got this from the Bardstown Road Farmers' Market. Sounds like a fun Saturday, and this also includes info about their winter schedule, which some of you were asking about in another thread:

This weekend is our Fall Harvest Festival, so we have a few exciting things lined up for Saturday morning. In addition to the music and food that we have every week, we'll have a chef making special treats for everyone and a drawing for Market Money that will help you pick up your groceries on the cheap.

Don't forget, the market is open from 8 - noon until Christmas, after which we will be open from 10 - noon every Saturday until next year's season starts. (First week in April.)

I'll be there for sure. Having a cookout tomorrow and some vegan friends will be there so I'll need some fresh veggies to grill. I'm almost ashamed to say this will be my first time getting down there, are there any must buy items?

Go hungry and get an omelette for breakfast. Get there early enough so they haven't run out of ingredients.

I work until 7 so I'll be there early! My dad was telling me how good the breakfast was, so I'm definitely excited.

Says who? Ours are still coming on strong, and it looks like they'll keep on doing it until the first frost. In the city, that could be another month, if this year keeps on doing what it's been doing ...
