Shiraz coming to Holiday Manor

by Melissa S » Sun Jul 29, 2007 10:28 am

I heard through a friend that Shiraz is opening up at the old Dooley's location in Holiday Manor off Hwy.42 (Brownsboro Rd.) This is in the same center as Mojito.

I am in trouble. I have a fear that I might never cook again......

Mojito and Shiraz.....in one parking lot.... OMG.

Let's see garlic shrimp on Monday.... Quinoa and chicken on Tues.....

Shady lane Cafe's brownsboro burger on Wed. Maybe I will whip up something on Thurs.....naaaaaa, That is when I saunter back over to Mojito for a mojito, and Tropical salad, and maybe some sweet potato fries.

Fresh Market on the corner......life is good!
The best part is that there are now sidewalks in our little country enclave, and I will be able to walk!!!

That is good news!!!

I am not sure when they will be opening their second location (Frankfort Ave. restaurant will remain). It appears that the part of Holiday Manor that they are opening at is being redone. There were some remodeling plans posted in the window of the old Dooley's and it looks pretty extensive.

I'm going to be a dissenting voice and ask if anyone else here thinks they've gone downhill. The last two times I've eaten there, the falafel was greasy and the quinoa was watery. I want to eat there again and hope it was just a temporary dip in quality.

Where's the Old Dooley's?

by Eliza W » Tue Jul 31, 2007 5:09 pm

For those of us who haven't lived in Louisville that long, could you tell me where the old Dooley's was? Near the Thai restaurant?

BTW, I ate at Shiraz last week, and it was exactly the same as it has been - absolutely delicious. My one quibble - and it is ridiculously minor - is that I'd like to see the tomato and the parsley chopped a bit. As it is, it's hard to take a bite without some major reassemblage.

Other than that - and it's really nothing - I'm so excited to have a Shiraz in my neighborhood that I can barely contain myself.

Correctamundo. Right across the hall from Thai Cafe in that dark little mini-mall across the parking lot from Mojito.

Shiraz is one of my favorite restaurants.... good luck to them, although i doubt they'll need it. Judging by the success of Mojito, the east end seems to be a goldmine for anything that brings variety.

Nice article in today's Business First saying is should be open by Oct. 13. He also says he hopes to have five restaurants open by 2012, mentioning Westport Village as a potential location.
