So yeah, we got caught ready to eat in that in-between time today, three in the afternoon, and NOTHING was open.

We drove all over downtown and up Frankfort, got down Shelbyville Road and desperately tried to reach a decision.

Since we'd never gone, we gave it a whirl.

El yucko. Making your portions so insanely massive does NOT equal good food. Other than having everything under the sun on the menu, there was not one redeeming quality.

That's what I get, I guess. :?

Never occured to me to eat anything other than the cheesecake- which is really pretty tasty. Actually the carrot cake cheesecake is a little bit of heaven.
Amy- have you tried Shiraz? It seems to stay open through the day and is always reliable.

All of our favorite haunts on Frankfort are open during the time you were looking for lunch....Shiaz, Grape Leaf, El Mundo, Meridian Cafe & J. Gumbo's. All fantastic & all open!

On the few occassions when I've eaten at a Cheesecake Factory, I actually didn't have much of an issue with the food. I didn't think portions were disgustingly large, or that it was done to make up for bad food, but it did seem like an attempt to justify relatively high prices which is my main complaint. I'd find it much more acceptable to have smaller portions, and more reasonable prices.

I've had several meals there, and every time, it has been very good, and I'll go back again. Yes, the portions are large and the prices a bit high, but everything I've tried has been quite tasty. No disappointments at all.

The food that The Cheesecake Factory isn't bad but the large portions and high prices make it a restaurant and I try to avoid. I'd much rather go to one of the local restaurants instead of this chain. The locals have more interesting food, better service as in most cases more reasonable portion sizes and prices.

I put this restaurant in the category that I'll go there if somebody I'm with wants to go there but I won't suggest it. Of course there are many other restaurants in that category for me too! Outback, Olive Garden, Bristol to name a few are also on that list for me.

My husband doesn't like the place. I think it's ok...but not great. I like their cheesecake.

But I just can't get past the ads in their menus

It only took one visit for me to realize that it's not my kind of place.

You know I'd completely forgotten about that. I find that rather crass as well.
