Gayle .. we have no interest in your commie stuff about the original post.

The post was correct of course. All of my wives were like this and I have taught my daughters that they should be like this also. Proper education of our ladies is necessary for marriage to work. Family values rule. If you don't believe me, ask Gov Fletcher.

Gayle ... get back to your kitchen and start that fire.

Gayle, I thought the piece was a little over the top also and somewhat unbelievable or made up. However, in the link that you posted to debunk the article is the following excerpt. The article may be fake but it is certainly not too far off base when it comes to accuracy as far as reflecting the 1950's. Things obviously were WAY different back then.

Whether the piece at hand is a genuine excerpt from a yet-undiscovered home economics textbook, it is nonetheless a relatively accurate reflection of the mainstream vision of a woman's appointed role in post-war America, as evinced by such educational training films as "The Home Economics Story" (made familiar to a whole new generation of youngsters through its spoofing on the popular Mystery Science Theater 3000 program).
