Party of 25 on a Saturday night

by Art T » Sat Oct 02, 2010 7:18 pm

Next month my wifes whole family is doing pictures and dinner. We want to eat around 7pm on Saturday night. We will be in Jeffersonville, IN. Any suggestions? I don't think anyone would want to accommodate a party that big on a Saturday except for my father in laws favorite place, Buckheads.

I don't Mind Buckheads because of all the TV's, but nothing on the menu makes me think ooh!

We are about half kids and half adults, only one baby.

A trip across the river would be cool for me, but some in her family get nervous when they leave Harrison County much less Indiana :D

I understand their desire not to leave Harrison County. Makes me nervous also.

I've got a group of Greyhound folks who get together for dinner once a month. Sometimes in Kentucky; sometimes in Louisville. Our groups varies from 12 to 30 in size. Here are a few places in Southern Indiana that we've been to:

Huber's is a possibility; they're set up for large groups

Famous Dave's is able to handle large groups, though you might be split up into two sets of tables (good thing about Dave's is the variety in the menu and how quickly meals are served, especially when you have kids in the crowd)

Senor Iguana's is pretty accommodating of large groups

Logan's has that smaller room on the east side of the bar that can get set up for a large group

O'Charley's has room for large groups in the south end of the restaurant

Bob Evans and Golden Corral have room for large groups (though I don't care for their food)

Habana Blues Tapas Restaurant in downtown New Albany is a lot of fun for a group of people comfortable with passing plates back and forth, sharing interesting food. I was going to take a group there next week but realized Wednesday is the day they shut down the city to set up for Harvest Homecoming. http://www.habanabluestapasrestaurant.com/

Check with the Come Back Inn on Spring Street in Jeff about accommodating a large group

That's what I could think of, off the top of my head.

Thanks for the suggestions. I've never been to Senor Iguanas though I've driven past it so many times.

The Charlestown Pizza Company would love to have you.
We're only about a 10 minute drive from downtown Jeffersonville.

Thanks
Shawn

You might give Clint a call at Cozza in downtown Jeffersonville and see if they can accommodate your group, or if you can make a small drive to Charlestown, the Charlestown Pizza Company would be another nice spot.

La Bocca is so tiny. We like the food but somethings were missing. I thnk the next time I go there it will be just my wife and I. They don't have a kids menu either.

My mother in law wants to try that place and she is "in charge"

I'll tell her to call. Thanks

Art, they don't have a kids menu but they do pizzas as well, so you could probably order a few of those.

I second Come Back Inn. We had our Christmas outing there (20+) on a Saturday and it went off without a hitch. Give Chris a call and see what he can do for you.

Sam's on the corner of Blackiston Mill and Charlestown Rd has several dining rooms and I'm sure they could accommodate your family.

NABC Public House (Grantline) has a large room that is great for groups.

Alternatively, NABC Bank Street handled a group of about 20 for my birthday a few months ago flawlessly. The Grantline location might be a little more kid-friendly though.

Art, we would be happy to host your party at The White Oak. We are on East Market Street in Louisville. If you like, we can put together a set menu for you as well.

Send me a message if you would like to talk further.

I don't know why I didn't think of the Bristol in Jeffersonville. They have a huge dining room and they might have a large seperate space as well.
