Marty fires off a couple of snarkily sesquipedalian cracks about Norton Commons ("a sanitized simulacrum of Old Louisville ... You won't find the organic rustle and bustle that shapes city neighborhoods") in today's review of Karem's Grill & Pub, but at the end, it's kind of hard to tell just what he really thinks of the retro new subdivision. His attitude about Karem's is a little more clear: His friendly but candid review mixes praise and criticism (mostly for careless attention to side dishes and packaged salad dressing and such), yielding a 2 1/2 star rating that seems fair for what he got. We chose different items during my review visits and left with a slightly better impression, but I can't really quibble: Today, the words fit the stars, although the headline writer's generosity sets a little more positive tone for the page than the report will support.
