Fried Egg on the "Bases Loaded Burger"

by Kathy K S » Mon Sep 27, 2010 11:13 am

An awesome sandwich!! The Bases Loaded Burger --> Two Black Angus Patties each with Cheese
--> Double Portion of Crispy Bacon
--> Fried Egg cooked medium
--> Grilled Onions, optional
--> Served on our Toasted Bakery Bun
--> $6.59

There are 24 more free toppings that can be added to the "BLB" - but it's perfect like this, IMO. We've tested it for about a week and customers (and our employees :D ) are cheering.

You can create your own awesome sandwich with a Fried Egg for an upcharge of only 50 cents - for instance, if you don't want cheese.

Thanks and let me know what you think!

Sounds great! I don't think I'd want to see the nutritional analysis on that one before I ate it, though. ;)

I'm 18 months post-bypass surgery, and I'm pretty sure that my cardiologist had a fit just knowing that I read about that burger......it does sound terrific, though.

I think it sounds delicious. I've certainly abused my body to the tune of a couple thousand calories a meal a few (snicker) times before.

Recently shared a very similar Baxter Ave burger at Bunz with hubby and it was really tasty! He's always been a fan of the Royal at Red Robin...took me a long time to get past the egg part but it is pretty good. Knowing how good HomeRun does everything else, I'm sure we'll be trying one of these in the near future!

It just occurred to me that you could duplicate the iconic Australian burger "with the lot" if you just added a slice of cooked beet to this. I am not kidding about this.

Here's a photo of the genuine article, burger, egg, bacon and beet plus standard dressings, sampled in 2000 in Lancefield, Victoria, Australia.

Kind of looks like road kill.
