Really? How can a restaurant that has not even opened be stiff competition?

Chuy's?Located in the old Bahama Breeze?

Maxwells is located in J-town. They were almost never crowded and always overpriced. Their attempt to serve to a higher clientèle in the area did not work out.

Wasn't that the same problem Maggie's had there? The reviews say overpriced and poor service.

So you know the owners?

Yes, it was the same place as Maggies.

And the same problems. Apparently after the split of the initial owners, Maxwells did not work out; even after an attempt at a revamp.

That location has not served very well for anything other than the late Dinner is Done when her business was mostly carry-out. There's just not enough parking there for a popular restaurant.

OK...so let me see if I've got this right.

A bar...a relatively unsuccessful bar (therefore without a large built in clientele)...on leased property with crappy parking and with only 10K in inventory is "asking" 475K for the business. That's almost as laughable as that chuckle head who was trying to sell that little concession trailer for 60K (or whatever it was). Oh and so much for the idea/concept that opening an "indie" establishment is "affordable".

If they think they'll get those kind of numbers for that business someone has been hitting the ol' crack pipe a bit too hard.

Maxwell's Bar and Grille.

Have you ever been to Maxwell's, Steve?

Nahhhhh...I don't have the appropriate visa to get into that part of town. I did go to their website however and it would appear that perhaps my original comment was a -bit- harsh. Looks like a fairly nice place. Still, I can't imagine paying 475K for leased property.
