Louisville Craft Beer Week - September 24th - October 2nd

by Scott_Shreffler » Thu Sep 16, 2010 7:50 pm

Hey, all. I just wanted to make all you forumites aware of a very cool event coming up the last week of September. Myself and a large group of of Louisville's best beer minds have put our heads together to create the 1st Annual Louisville Craft Beer Week.

LCBW will begin on Friday September 24th with a Cask Ale festival at BBC on Shelbyville Road from 4p.m. - Midnight. It will end on October 2nd with BBC's (Main & Clay) Annual Volksfest. Throughout the week, there will be many Marquee events, including:

- Strassenfest on the bank of the Ohio in New Albany on Saturday September 25th.
- A Beer Dinner featuring BBC, NABC, Schlafly and Upland at L&N Wine Bar & Bistro on Monday September 27th.
- A Beer Dinner at Cafe Lou Lou in the Highlands, featuring Bell's Beer on Tuesday September 28th.
- An Indiana vs. Kentucky showdown at Rocky's on the River in Jeffersonville, IN, featuring the finest American Craft Beer both states have to offer. That will take place on Thursday September 30th.
- A Beer Bus Tour through Germantown on Friday October 1st, with stops at selected bars, such as Monkey Wrench, Nachbar many others.

In addition to the Marquee events, there will be various promotions and tastings scheduled at locations all over the city throughout the week.

I also have to mention that none of this would be possible without our amazing sponsors, Liquor Barn, ValuMarket and BoomBozz Taphouse. As a result of their support, they will be featuring events everyday. Be sure to check your local Liquor Barn and ValuMarket locations for their tasting schedules. Also, check your local BoomBozz Taphouse for their Keg Tapping schedule. It'll be Taphouse Tuesday everyday during LCBW. You can also get the schedule for all the Liquor Barn, ValuMarket and BoomBozz events at our website, http://www.louisvillecraftbeerweek.com

We have worked very hard over the past few months to make sure that this week rivals any other Craft Beer Week in the country. I truly believe we have done so. Now, we just need all of your support to help make it great. Looking forward to drinking lots of great beer with you all when Louisville Craft Beer Week begins on September 24th. Cheers, all.
Life is too short to drink cheap beer.

I might be missing the info, but how does one reserve some spots on the bus ?
Just be at the Monkeywrench at 8:00 ?

Thanks

A fine beer may be judged with only one sip, but it's better to be thoroughly sure.

You didn't miss anything. Not all pricing has been established as events along the route are still being added. The address Scott posted above and the FB page are the best sources right now. I just sent you an invite for the event.

Thanks for your support!

As of this precise moment, the listings at both sites are as up to date as I can make them.

There are three main areas:

1. Main/marquee events each night for nine days
2. Numerous other events all around town
3. Our primary sponsors' tastings (BoomBozz Taphouse, Liquor Barn and ValuMarket)

I think the http://www.louisvillecraftbeerweek.com site is a bit easier to navigate. The boxes on the right side have links to the items mentioned above.

You can use the Facebook site to spread the word and invite friends.

It's a great lineup of events.

For the record, feel free to talk it up here, too. :)

I know it has been over for several days now, but I went to several of the events last week between going out of town and had a great time at each one of them !
I know that David Pierce was instumental in a lot of the venues, and want to thank him and everybody else that put on this event and hope to have it again next year !
Cheers :D

I agree! Thanks to NABC, BBC, Brownings, Cumberland, BoomBozz and many other pubs and the wonderful people and distributors who made the many events at Craft Beer Week very enjoyable.

Thank you for the kind words, I was one of many. Each local brewery was involved from concept to implementation as were three local distributors. Roger Baylor was solely responsible for keeping the events current on Face Book and the LCBW blog. Thanks again to everyone who attended our events. We have started planning for next year. If you have any ideas please let me know.
