Local location to buy "premium" popping corn?

by Ryan G. » Thu Jul 26, 2007 8:52 am

Hello all,
Does anyone know of locations in Louisville that sell "premium" popping corn? Here is a link to what I'm referring; http://www.popcornlovers.com/flavors.aspx.

Good Eats, season 10 episode 10, is what got me interested in trying some of these premium kernels.

Also, does any have experience with the different types of popcorn poppers, and have an opinion on which one is superior? In the Good Eats episode, Alton says to just use a stainless steel bowl on the stove, but I'm not sure I could pull that off.

I don't know what AB uses.... but I use Black Jewel, the kernels are not huge after they are popped... but they are really tender, and a lot of flavor so you can avoid use extras if you have to!

A little veg oil in a stock pot on the stove, and you are good to go!

You can get it at most grocery stores.

I don't remember if Nuts N Stuff carries popcorn or not.
What about Whole Foods?

Lois

We carry organic popcorn but none of the varieties mentioned in the show.
BTW, thanks for thinking of us.
