Meeting with friends for lunch Saturday and need some recommendations for us to choose from. We'll be eating around 1:00.
Not going to be too picky...but does need to be in Louisville. The only thing we don't want is a strictly seafood restaurant, or Italian. Other than that we like everything.
It goes without saying- NO CHAINS :-)

You guys had great ideas the last time I got together with my friends, we ended up going to Palermo for dinner. And we've already settled on Mojito for next month. Usually we do dinner but this time the only thing we could all get together for is lunch.

You should try Cafe Lou Lou at the new location. (disclosure: I make desserts there).

You like tiramisu, right? :)

You didn't specify how fancy or laid back you wanted the restaurant to be but based on where I'd like to go with the guys for lunch here my suggestions:

Frankfort Avenue Beer Depot
Miking Linnings
Havana Rhumba

and if you don't mind traveling a little father:
Westport General Store
Bistro New Albany

and there's always is Lynn's Paradise Cafe

There are many others but these all offer something unique. Good luck and have fun where we decide to go.

Frankfort Ave Beer Depot, aka the corner.

That guys BBQ is Great. Pulled Pork Sandwich's, ribs, chops, brisket, great sides, call well ahead for chicken and ask. The guy: Kevin or Kitchen please.

After Lunch, convene next door at Patrick's for Bloody Mary's on the rocks
big glass and celery stalk w/tops garnish.

I practically lived on the corner one summer, leaving it's embrace only for 3 day sabbaticals, camping on the banks of the Ohio river at Westport.

On occasion a visit would be paid to, Mr Crawford at Westport General Store,
for drinking water and sundries.

 So it would be worth the trip.
Every days a holiday and every meals a feast !

Why don't your friends and you try El Mundo? You'll love the margaritas!! (Shameless self plug!)

TOAST on 736 East Market Street is a wonderful place for breakfast or lunch and then after you can walk up the street and visit some wonderful galleries and boutiques for shopping or browsing. http://toastonmarket.com/ Its a great way to spend a Saturday with friends!
