New Turkish place

by Lonnie Turner » Sun Sep 12, 2010 9:57 pm

While my wife and I were out walking this afternoon we saw a banner across the recently closed Pizza Roma, across from Mark's Feed Store. Stopped in and picked up a menu, haven't tried it yet. They have something they call Turkish pita-pizza. Never heard of that but it sounds intriguing...

Thanks, Lonnie! Actually, there's been some discussion of this, but it was "hidden" in that it started up as a sub-tread in my review of the Istanbul Palace on Goose Creek. This is run by the same family.

This link should take us to where Kim H posted the first news about the new place, if you want to check it out:

Went to Istanbul Cafe last night with a group of friends. We had a fantastic meal, spoke with the chef a bit who was delightful, and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. I highly recommend the Doner pita/pizza - spicy and delicious and the eggplant appetizer. Plenty for meat eaters, vegetarians and vegans. No personal interest in this place other than it is within walking distance of my house and I'd like them to stick around.
