Preston Hwy eats?

by Adam Smith » Sun Sep 12, 2010 3:07 pm

So I just bought my first house, off of Preston Hwy behind H & S Hardware. Any good places to eat around there?

The Chili Pot in Okolona has delicious chicken salad (w/ cilantro) on grilled sourdough and my family is hooked on their White Chili. I do carry-out and it comes with corn or jalapeno muffins. An independent, local joint. They close at 7:30 p.m.

Congratulations on your house! You are very close to Thai Smile V, Koreana II and La Rosticeria, which is like a taqueria that specializes in roast chicken. Lots of other taquerias in that general neighborhood, too, all the way out to La Tapatia just past Preston and Blue Lick Road.

Awesome, thanks guys. I was afraid I'd miss Las Gordiats out there but there seems to be plenty of alternatives.

Not a restaurant but if you like to cook you are going to be close to a really neat place to shop. There is a fairly large Vietamese grocery store south of Fern Valley road on Preston. We were headed there Saturday and while we were stopped at a traffic light a lady asked us if we knew where the store was so she followed us. They carry fresh vegies fresh seafood , meat, and stuff you cannot find just anywhere.
