Long day with a small Oops..

by jpdurbin » Sat Sep 04, 2010 9:40 pm

So it started off good. Hit the Bodega at Felice to have lunch with Todd, Lisa, JD, Edie, Pat, Dan and the Bodega boys. Was great. Found a place called Rellek at 817 E. Market; Interesting consignment shop. Headed towards WorldFest only to find most all sidewalks on Main are under construction… Detoured to Market St and happened onto an open door at Saffrons thus entered only to find it emptied and fresh tile being laid. I rolled about 2’ into freshly laid tile. I see a lad somewhat upset with me and if I only knew more Farsi, I’m sure it would have been a colorful comment. Backed out slowly and watched him reset my oops. Finally made it to WorldFest. Excellent event. Headed to O’Sheas on Main (PITA to get to currently but great inside) to watch the game and had a great Ruben. Caught some info on Saffrons which I’ll let someone else pass on. Headed to Brownings and saw PaulaB and Anoosh. Watched UK win and was a happy pup!!!!
Long day!!!!

The sidewalks are a disaster-- I admire your tenacity to go so many places! Anoosh & I looked in the windows at Saffron-- didn't look like the tile was any worse for you trying to get some fabulous Persian food. A sign would go a long way there, like when they plan to reopen? We went in the new bbc, had goat cheese & hummus along w/ a brew. Came back, and got to see you! Great Day :D

From what I understand, one of the lads I’d run into at Manoosh’s bought Saffrons. He will do well for he is a foodie and much of the staff, if not all, will still be there. I have no idea on a time frame but hopefully my incident did not set it back a bit. :D

Funny story. For more on the Saffron's topic, see this: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=11751
