The Belvedere is in the general vicinity of 5th and Main downtown.

The Riverfront Plaza/Belvedere is that little urban park that connects the Galt House and the Kentucky Center for the Arts and that you drive under on I-64 when you're driving along the Riverfront between the Third Street and Ninth Street exits. You can come up into it from the Riverfront parking garage or find street parking and walk up the long ramp north of Main street near Fifth.

Nah, it's the Belvedere. Note the GRC statue.
Thinks the frosty mug is the low point in American history.

Dang! You're right! They managed to cleverly conceal the expressway in that shot.

Thanks for the catch, Matthew.

They use to have an outside ice-skating rink at The Belvedere. Though, I never recall it being in operation anytime I went down for events.

WorldFest is already hopping! There were lots of folks there an hour ago when I stopped by. The Lopez family is there agan with their fabulous Guatemalan tamales. If you're a tamale fan, try them. They are much lighter than the Mexican version. I think they use rice flour along with masa. I can't get enough of them.

I went to the Naturalization Ceremony at Whitney Hall at one. Afterwards I checked out the Worldfest. booths. There were serveral local restaurants includiing Mai's Thai, Yachings and the Columbian restaurant that is in Lyndon. I chose food from a booth run by a lady from Rwanda. Very interesting foods; I had a small, but whole, skinless deep-fried potato, won-ton skin stuffed with ? (something akin to an egg-rolll, but not quite), a vegetable stew of eggplant, greens and red peppers (totally awesome) and chicken on a stick. For beverage I went to a Mexican booth and got a tamerind drink, should of gotten a larger size. With the weather cooling down, business should be booming!

We went today after a trip to the zoo!
Chicken on a stick, fries with cheese, nachos, sambussas, horchata, watermelon drinks, red curry chicken, shrimp and grits, some odd coconut and peanut dish that they were sampling, cupcakes.......we had a lot of different things. lol

I went last night w/ my wife & some friends. We sampled a wide variety of foods but nothing really impressed us. I love street food but I could count the number of decent places there on 1 hand. We did enjoy the music though. I think that overall we were all just thinking that it could be so much more. It's a shame that half of the event is the same old crap that is at the state fair.

It was a great experience for my friend and her family. She adopted a little boy from the DRC (Congo) 6 months ago and she was able to get into contact with other Africans/Congolese families, who welcomed her into their community with open arms. She was more than thrilled!
