September vacation

by Nora Boyle » Wed Sep 01, 2010 7:05 pm

I'd just like to inform the forum that El Mundo will be taking our summer break (well earned I can say) and will be closed on Sept 11th until the 20th, back in business Tues, the 21st. Mike and I are going to Mexico for the first time ever, having spent most of our previous out of the country time in Saskatchewan, minus a 9 day Paris jaunt.....You can bet I'm psyched! We'll be in the Yucatan peninsula area. Hope you can join us when we return!
Also, I will take the liberty to inform you that the Blue Dog is taking their vacation the week prior. Although I'm not affiliated with them, I'm sure Kit and Bobby don't mind my giving you a heads up. I hope they do something fantastic with the time away.....might be Italy, might be hog slaughtering in Goshen....with those two you never no what makes a romantic getaway!

(on a side note, Mike made a fantastic blackberry/white chocolate cheesecake for this week and all takers have been blown away....the man knows his cheesecake)

On the main drag in Playa is a little white church. Right by the little white church are some street carts that sell the conchinita pibil. You have to get there before 10 or 11 am, or they will be gone. If you speak spanish it will cost less!

I had lunch at el mundo today. The lunch sized bison burrito was just enough to eat. Everything was delicious and the cashier was very friendly and helpful.
