New restaurant on Spring Street?

by Chris Scott » Sat Aug 28, 2010 4:48 pm

There's been a lot of construction on the old Spring Street meeting house, just down from Spring Street Bar & Grill and Willinger's Beer Depot. They've built a nice patio, and are re-vamping the inside. I think it is going to be a restaurant...does anybody know what is going in there?

As I recall, Ivor Chodkowski from Field Day Family Farm in Jefferson County was trying to sell shares last year in a restaurant to be put in that location, the idea being that all (or most?) of its fare would be based on local produce. I haven't heard anything more about it, and this could be something completely different, but that was the last I heard.

I talked to Ivor a month ago out at the farm. He confirmed that he is opening a Farm- to-Table restaurant in town. I don'r remember the address though.

Those people are opening the farm table on East Market. I don't think we know what is going into the Spring Street spot. My younger daughter lives near by and is anxiously awaiting updates.

I believe it will be called "Harvest." There was some information on it at the Bardstown Road farmers market on Saturday, at the omlette stand. The omlette cooks were wearing Harvest gear.

I heard it may be something Bim Dietrich has his hands on.

Oh Sue - please let it be true! My husband and I were lamenting Primo and Allo Spiedo over the weekend.
