A few seats left for Lamas's Beard House reprise Wednesday

by Robin Garr » Mon Jul 23, 2007 6:15 pm

On Wednesday evening, Anthony Lamas will re-create the dinner he recently cooked at James Beard House in New York as a special dinner at Seviche.

I'm told there are still a few seats left, and I would advise grabbing them if you can. This should be a memorable event!

It's cocktails and horse doovers at 7 p.m., with dinner to begin at 7:45. The toll is $75 a person, which is a heck of a lot cheaper than a trip to New York. ;)

Here's the Beard House menu. I assume Wednesday night's dinner may vary in some particulars (wine availability could be an issue, for instance), but assume it will be very close to this:

Hors d’Oeuvre

Yellowtail Tiradito with Ginger, Garlic, and Soy

Lobster Ceviche Shooters with Coconut–Lime Broth

Beef Tiradito with Cumin, Garlic, Lime, and Yellow Tomato Pico de Gallo

Smoked Salmon Wraps with Egg, Capers, and Jalapeño

Sailor Jerry Rum Mojitos
Sailor Jerry Rum and Basil Mojitos

Dinner

Yucatán-Style Tinga with Ashley Farms Organic Chicken, Vidalia Onion, and Chipotle Chile
Pierre Sparr Réserve Pinot Gris 2005

Peruvian Anticuchos > Skewered Beef Tenderloin with Aji Amarillo
Montecillo Crianza 2003

Brazilian Moqueca > Seafood Stew with Coconut, Ginger, and Lime Broth, Dende Oil, and Toasted Macadamia Rice
J. Vidal-Fleury Côtes du Rhône Blanc 2006

Ahi Tuna with Shrimp Chilaquiles and Roasted Tomato, Cumin, and Orange Salsa
Renwood Amador Barbera 2004

Crispy Banana with Passion Fruit, Dulce de Leche, and Coconut
J. Vidal-Fleury Muscat de Beaumes-de-Venise 2005

I'd like to add, at the risk of sounding cheesy, that this discounted invite is not supposed to seem like a coupon, but a "thank you" from Anthony to all who've supported and respected him through the years. Most of the people already scheduled for attendance are being treated by Anthony, so this is truely not a venture of profit or gain, but just an opportunity to have dinner with friends. We do still have plenty of room, but the dinner is Wednesday, so please, reserve asap. PM's directed to me are a fine way to book. Thanks everyone!

Hey Hefe! (Andrew Hutto) I tried you a few times at the restaurant, but you were not in. I wanted to invite you and the wife, to come in on me tonight. You were my Hefe and let me run wild in your kitchen, so it's the least I can do. Buen provecho y muchas gracias!
