I missed this last year but it looked like fun... A great reason to dine in the highlands Sunday... 8/29 @ 8:29

Or...depending on one's perspective...an outstanding reason to stay the hell away from the Highlands on 8/29.

Whatever - it's awesome. John King is a social punk genius (let's not forget he's the founder of Louisville is for Lovers, and after a full decade of Louisville-centric Valentine's ballads by local bad asses performing the annual shows and putting out the sexiest CD of the yr, it has come to an end :-( - breaks my spirit).

As for the Zombie Walk, I had to clean gigantic green slime streaks from Seviche's front window in the first annual walk to celebrate the tri-fecta birthdays in 2005, and our patrons at the time were emphatically entertained (couple in their retirement age, laughing and smiling when I tried to apologize). We all loved it. John even worked there at the time, but he was off for his birthday!

You can stand along a street corner and watch the thing pass. My "outer-county" friends' childrens' grandfather took them last year. I was like, "What? The Zombie Walk?! In the HIGHLANDS?!""

I love it! Is this the one where at a pre-determined time they all stop and recreate the dance scene from Thriller? What fun, gotta love it!

I do believe the Zombie walk coincided with a HotBytes offline at Seviche one year. Mary and I were at a table by the Bardstown Road window, and it was hilarious (and freaky) to watch the zombies ambling past. :D

Where are some good places to go to see the walk? Obviously, Seviche...but I'm taking some friends and not sure they'd be up for the prices. Is it just on Bardstown?

How am I going to tell the difference between Zombie night and any other weekend in the Highlands?

Avalon, Bristol, Bearno's (will be packed since that is where they end) Caspian Grille, J Shepards for cigar smokers, BoomBozz outside patio, Impellizzeri's Mark's Feed Store and Palermo would all be great spots!!! This is silly fun event and kids love it, well at least most...! :D

This would have led to my saying:
