Had our first experience at Rivue tonight as a birthday dinner for me. I have to say I was pleased with the entire experience. This place is on par with the best the city has to offer. We started with a cheese and pate appetizer - Humbolt Fog, a nice gouda, fresh fruit, a rustic pate, and a foie gras mousse on one plate...fresh and tasty. My 15 year old had to have the seared foie with concord grape ice and pumpkin butter - the foie was right on. My wife loved the Rivue salad and I had the lobster broth - basically bisque. Both were well done. For dinner I had a grilled pork chop topped with a pear chutney and garnished with brussels sprouts and blue cheese - this was a well conceived and executed dish. Karen and Parker had the rustic game hen....both were pleased with their choice. Add a bottle of Sonoma Cutrer pinot noir and we were in a good place.
One gripe...the wine list had no vintage listed...not good for a restaurant of this caliber. Weirdo wine snobs like me pay attention to this stuff, albeit loosely.
This is a great place for a special occasion or a nice high end night out and the view is stunning. We shall return.
