My friend and fellow Louisville Hotbytes peruser, Nancy Inman, made me aware of this article in the current issue of Velocity. Chefs McGarity and Moore of Volare are given a set of five common but diverse items and challenged to incorporate them into a gourmet menu. http://www.velocityweekly.com/apps/pbcs ... 80822/1065

Sounds kind of like iron chef! You can make anything into a great meal if you have enough other good stuff to add. They forgot to add truffles and lobster which always seem to make it into a meal on iron chef but other than that they kind of did the same thing.

IMHO they actually didn't do anything very creative with any of the ingredients provided except maybe the mango vinaigrette dressing. Although I will give them credit for being able to use all the ingredients given without ruining the meal!

Looks like a fun idea that they "borrowed" from last year's LEO Dining Guide.

Whoops, excuse me. My mind isn't what it used to be. But it was still a good read!
