Irish Rover was slammed

Last night, a Thursday. In a rainstorm. Doesn't look like the smoking ban has hurt them at all. We go there often and I can't remember seeing it so crowded and noisy. Business was certainly good last night!

We have had similar experiences at Dundee Tavern. We go there often in spite of the smoke. Since the smoking ban, the place has appeared at least as crowded as before, if not more so.

Did anyone catch the "Chubby" Ray Perkins letter to the editor in LEO this week? He owns Chubby Ray's Pizza and is railing against the smoking ordinance. Here's a link:

It's interesting to see how certain places are dealing with it. The Left Field Lounge, a classic B'town Road dive bar, has placed an old oak table and a couple of chairs on the sidewalk out front - their version of alfresco dining, no doubt.
