I am taking my husband up to Indianapolis on Saturday for his birthday. We already have reservations for an early dinner at Maggiano's so eating is covered, but are there any other foodie stops I should try to get to up there? I know there is a Penzey's in the area and will be getting there! Any good chocolatiers or specialty stores? We are only there for the afternoon, but would like to do something other than eat!

Since you have your main dining covered at Maggiano's, I'll refrain from my standard recommendation for Shapiro's Deli...but you might want to keep them in mind for bringing home any of their wide assortment of baked goods (including bagels, breads, cakes, pies)....stop by Shapiro's bakery in their downtown location (805 S. Meridian St).
